Halloween Candy & Special Occasions

A month before Halloween -- John and I were in a grocery store and he put three bags of Halloween candy in our cart. I turned to him and said, "hello -- have we met? My name is Rita Farro and I can't have candy in my house..."

John had ONE JOB during the month of October...to keep me out of the Halloween candy. I have no idea where he hid it -- so he did good. The rule is -- the last group of trick-or-treaters gets ALL THE LEFTOVERS...

And it was Landon & Memphis. Landon here in his costume...no -- wait -- you can't really see him...because he's camouflaged...
Memphis was the cutest Jessie from Toy Story....note the cool boots...

Since we only had six trick-or-treaters -- so Landon and Memphis got about three pounds of candy EACH...
Landon likes to take pictures with my camera. So he snapped a few that night while we were visiting. Here's his "mirror shot". I love seeing things from a child's point of view...
Nicole happened to mention that she was down to only 5 forks at her house...THAT WILL NEVER DO...The minute she made the remark -- I brought out a box of vintage silverplate -- which is what I use every single day. I love the weight of the old silverware...
And I love, love, love this picture of Memphis' little hands....touching their new silverware...

Nicole said she will use it whenever the whole family is able to sit at the table for a meal. Now -- THAT's a special occasion in today's world.
