Hoover, West Branch and Pie...

This will probably be my last blog post about our trip to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum in West Branch, Iowa. It was a beautiful day, and the five of us had such a wonderful time. I highly recommend DAY TRIPPING. And isn't there an interesting destination where you live? Where you always wanted to visit?? CALL A FRIEND....line it up....you won't be sorry.
President Hoover and his wife Lou are actually buried in West Branch...
Our two hardy members walked up a BIG HILL...
To see the graves.
We drove around the little town of West Branch...
It's a quaint town that time has passed by...
Most of the store fronts are empty...
On our way home -- we will be driving by the largest auction house in the State of Iowa....and, hey, it just happens to be WEDNESDAY......
Sharpless has an auction every Wednesday -- and you NEVER know what you might see there...
On this day, there was a motorcycle!!
AND they are world-famous (thanks to me) for their delicious, enormous pork tenderloins!!
Also -- the MOST delicious homemade pies!!
Really -- I cannot recommend this day-trippin thing highly enough!!
