Summer Adventures

Wow. Here's how fast time flies for me now. Two weeks ago, Emily was pregnant will Lillian...and then, yesterday -- Lilly started Kindergarten. HOLY COW...time surely does fly when you're having fun, eh??
We spent a lot of time on the porch this summer...
One of Lillian's new activities was learning how to weave a potholder on a loom...
We also went to a few plays this summer...
She LOVES TO RIDE THE BUS...
I told her this is good practice for when we go to New York City!!
We shared a Salted Nut Roll during the intermission (we both love them)...
On one summer Saturday -- I decided this child of digital streaming, Netflix and Redbox should experience an OLD FASHIONED VIDEO STORE...
Cousin Linda is helping her to find movies we'd both enjoy (something she hasn't already seen 30 times)
Of course, we had the place all to ourselves...
The selection was OVERWHELMING...
After much discussion, she narrowed it down to about ten movies...
The trip to the video store was INSPIRED. Technology changes so fast, video stores are fast becoming the dinosaur of the movie world. Blockbuster is gone for good, and this one can't be far behind...

Hey -- just for the record -- the best movie we watched all summer was Mr. Popper's Penguins.  Jim Carey had a gaggle of penguins in his New York City apartment.   I loved the New York City setting and action...and there was a nice message...

About stopping to smell the roses, and what's most important in your life...work or family, money or time...  GREAT movie to watch with your grandchildren!!
